How To Stay Motivated Throughout Your Weight Loss Journey

If you have ever embarked on a weight loss journey then you will probably know that staying motivated is one of the biggest obstacle that you will face. Everyone starts off a new diet highly motivated but it usually only takes a couple of weeks before you start to lose that motivation and quite often fall back into your old eating habits.

It really becomes difficult if you are the only person in your family that is dieting and you have to watch your family members eating those foods that you love so much. You really can only put up with that for so long before losing all motivation and just giving in to temptation.

This is one of the biggest reasons why most people fail at dieting. They might start out with the best intentions but before long their positive thinking turns into negative thinking and they are soon back to where they started.

Protein Weight Loss Diets - Do They Really Work?

Protein Diets - they are the big thing in weight loss diets these days but do they actually work?

Well, they actually do if you stick to them and follow the diet guidelines properly. Eating protein only will actually reduce your appetite and you will find that you just don't get as hungry as you did before and so you don't snack as often.

Protein also contains less kilojoules than fats and carbohydrates and it is also quite complex and as such the body must work harder to digest it.

So if you are on a protein only diet you will find that you not only lose weight, but you will lose weight fast.

The problem with a protein weight loss diet is that if you are eating only protein foods then you aren't getting all the necessary nutrition that you need. It is important to only have a few days of protein only and then return to adding vegetables into your diet.

One of the popular protein diets is the Dukan Diet which starts off with an attack phase of protein only and during this phase you lose a lot of weight in a short period. The attack phase only lasts a few days before moving on to the Cruise phase, during which you will still lose weight but not quite as fast as during attack phase. When you are in the cruise phase you are also eating vegetables as well as protein foods every second day and protein only every other day. This ensures that you are receiving your nutrients on the protein and vegetable days.

During the cruise phase on the Dukan Diet you should still lose around 1kg or 2 pounds a week, which is still very good. The Dukan Diet also gives you a consolidation phase which will teach your body how to adjust to your new eating habits and this reduces the risk of putting all that weight you just lost back on.
