Site flipping like any other online business does need a little cash investment to begin with. The good news is that the cost is quite minimal and you will find that you will earn the money to cover those costs quite quickly.
Site Flipping Manual
The first thing I would suggest that you invest in is a good manual about site flipping so that you can learn from someone who already has experience and has already done all the trial and error. If you just jump into site flipping head first without learning the basics, then you are likely to make mistakes that could end up being quite costly, so by learning from an expert will reduce those costly mistakes and save you money in the long term.
Hosting
The next thing that you will need is hosting to host the websites that you are going to build. There are a couple of choices with the cheaper option being an unlimited domain package which you can get from a company like Hostgator for around $10 a month.
The other option is to get a reseller hosting account which starts at around $25 a month but will allow you to then offer your customers hosting. By offering your customers hosting you can then earn yourself a residual income.
Domains
Next up you will need to purchase a domain name on which to build your website. Domains will vary in price with .info domains costing around $2 a year and .net and .com domains costing around $10 a year. If you look around you should be able to find some coupon codes so that you can save even more money on domain purchases.
Listing Fees
Lastly, once your site is created and ready to be sold you will have some listing fees involved to list the site for sale. Websites like Flippa will charge around $20 for a basic startup site listing plus some Final Value Fees once the site is sold.
Ebay listings fees are cheaper for just a basic listing, but can get more expensive if you choose other featured options.
It is advisable to start the listing price at a price that will cover the costs involved in creating and selling that particular site.
Conclusion
When first starting out I know it is difficult to spend money if you aren’t 100% sure that you will make that money back. There are many business opportunities available and most of them will require some investment. Site flipping is the one business that I found to be very successful and covered my costs quite quickly.
